THE TAJMAHAL (A TRIBUTE TO BEAUTY AND LOVE)

 
The Tajmahal 'It is a symbol of eternal love and a tribute to a beautiful woman and enduring love as a monument'. Viewing Tajmahal is just like you watching a beautiful woman from different sides. The rectangular red sandstone base of the Taj represents the beauty of the foot of a beautiful woman. The main gate symbolizes the veil of a bride's face like a woman on her first wedding night beautiful, adorable and lovable. After entering the main gate the view is awesome the sight of eyes captured the arch which frames the Tajmahal.


The Tajmahal is situated on the bank of river Yamuna, in Agra India. Agra is at a distance of around one and a half hours from the Capital Delhi from Express highways or via express trains. The people from all over the world come to visit India also visited Agra not only for the red sandstone fortress (Red Fortress) built by the Mughal emperors but to see the tribute to beauty and love 'THE TAJMAHAL'.

The Agra having historic value as once it was the capital of the Mughal Empire during the 16th and early 18th centuries, and the center of the Mughal Empire until they moved their capital to Delhi (Capital of India) in 1637.


The Tajmahal is built in the loving and sweet memory of 'Mumtaz Mahal', the Persian princess and the second wife of the fifth Mughal emperor 'Shah Jahan' in 1631. The Mumtaz Mahal before her death extracted four promises from the emperor 1st:- he builds the Taj; 2nd he should marry again;3rd should kind with their children; and the last 4th, he should visit the tomb on her death anniversary. The emperor kept the first two promises he has given to her beloved wife.

The construction of Tajmahal started in 1631 and was completed in 22 years, Designed by the great Iranian architect 'Ustad Isa'. The material used in the construction of Tajmahal was brought from different regions of India and also from Central Asia, with the help of 1000 elephants fleets to transport and around 20,000 workers working continuously for the 22 years.


The Tajmahal stands on a red sandstone base covered by a huge white marble terrace on which rests the famous dome flanked by four rising tapering minarets. The Taj also can be described as 'having been designed by giants and finished by jewelers'.

The Tajmahal is made of white marble(Sangmarmar in Hindi). The dome is built with white marble, on the other hand, the tomb is set against the plain across the river and this background changes the view of Tajmahal with its reflection magic. Like a woman, the Tajmahal changes colors at different hours of the day and during different seasons. The Taj represents the different moods of a woman as in the morning it is Pinkish, milky white in the evening and when the sun sets moon shines it turns in golden like a beautiful woman waiting for her lover.



Like a jewel, Tajmahal sparkles in moonlight when the semi-precious stones inlaid in the white marble on the main mausoleum catch the glow of the moon. In full moonlight, it appears like a beautiful diamond on the earth.

BY AIR 

Indian Airlines (Domestic Airline in India) runs daily flights from Delhi to Agra. Kheria Airport (Airport of Agra) is about 6 km from the Agra city center and is easily accessible by taxis and auto-rickshaws at nominal rates. 

BY RAIL / TRAIN 

Agra is well connected by excellent train services to Delhi such as The Shatabdi Express (1.5-2 hrs), Taj Express (2.5 hrs), Intercity Express (3 hrs).
