INDIA NATIONAL SYMBOLS -6(NATIONAL ANIMAL"TIGER")





Tiger is the National Animal of India. It is known as "Royal Bengal Tiger". Tiger easily recognized by its coat of reddish-orange with black dark stripes, no two tigers having a common pattern of stripes just like fingerprints of humans.


The tiger is the largest wild cat in the world and third largest land Carnivore after polar bear and brown bear. This big cat weighs up to 720 pounds around 290-363 kgs, body length can be up to 3.3 meters {11Ft.}with a long tail of around 1.2 meters.
The tail is used to make balance and for making sharp turns at the time of running. It lives around 20-25 years and having exceptionally stout teeth and the canines are the longest in the world of around 74.5-90mm (2.93"-3.0").

The scientific name of Tiger is 'Panthera tigris'. The Bengal tiger is found in India, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Bhutan. There are 9 species of Tigers found in the world in which 3 are extinct.
