Maa Maya Devi Mandir{temple} is situated in holy city Haridwar, Uttaranchal, INDIA. It is one of the Shakti-peeth {Seedha peeth} from three Sakti-peeths situated in Haridwar(Holy city of INDIA) other two are Maa Chandi Devi & Maa Mansa Devi. It is believed that the heart and navel of goddess Sati fell in the region where the temple stands today.


It is an Ancient Temple(Mandir) constructed in the 11th century. According to the INDIAN Ancient tales, Goddess Devi Sati wife of God Shiva sacrificed her life because her father Daksh insulted her husband God Shiva. She jumped in the holy fire and finished her life. When God Shiva gets to know about her wife he got sad and anger he took her body{Devi Sati dead body}. To save the earth and entire Universe God Vishnu* used his "Sudharsan Chakra" to cut the body of Devi Sati into small pieces. Sati's navel & Heart fell down where the Maya Devi temple is located today.

The Goddess Maa Maya Devi is the Chief Goddess(deity) of Haridwar. It is believed that no pilgrimage to Haridwar is complete without a visit to the Maya Devi Temple.vertex of the Siddhapeeth triangle formed between Mansa Devi, Chandi Devi, and Maya Devi temples.
